gloomy day.

i think the greatest thing i have learned is to carry on. i far too often get in a funk where i think everything and everyone is working against me. i compare myself, feel insecure, and lonely. but i come to find that all it takes is a little prayer to turn my fear into faith. faith in knowing i am going to be ok. i am not here to live out anyone else's dream or compare myself to others. i am not here to feel bad for myself when others are succeeding. i am not here to outdo my enemy. i am not getting judged on my appearance by anyone who really loves me.  i am here to feel happy. and to find my own happy. to find the people and things that make me happy and stick with them. i need to remember that my joy cannot be based on someone else's or something that i do not have. how lucky am i to have what i have. to live the life i do and do the things i do. my life is constantly getting weaved, whether good or bad, something may come from it. my trials are no harder than the next persons, and my triumphs should not be jaded.
a very wise women once wrote to me in a letter, to have faith and press forward. and when my attitude is faulting or when im feeling alone to remember she is rooting for me. and on the days i feel lonely or sad,  i need to look up and not let it ruin me. because we are far too strong to be ruined by the earthly things that make us sad, when our earthly goal is to be happy...

to a gloomy [icy] thursday.
xoxo, chlo

  1. This made me tear up. I needed to hear this. You're amazing...thinking of you! Xoxo

  2. hoping things begin to look up for you soon, chloee! you're so brave for putting out your feelings like this, so transparently, on your blog.

  3. Thank you for posting this!
    I can relate!

  4. comparing yourself to others can be tough sometimes...especially on the internet where it's all about "followers" and "likes" and comments...and there are always people getting more than you, it seems. i've always liked the phrase "don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle," and it can be applied in so many situations.

  5. Amen. thanks for sharing. xoxo
